Top Reasons to Install Blown Insulation in Your Attic

Insulating your home is one of the best ways to make it more energy efficient. Blown insulation is a great material to add to your attic space. It offers better coverage than batt insulation, and it’s easier to hit all of the nooks and crannies found in an irregular attic space with this type.

Here are some of the top reasons to install blown insulation in your attic space:

  • Energy efficiency – Blown insulation can fill in all of the corners and tight spaces within your attic space. It can also go deep enough to cover ceiling joists and prevent any drafts from occurring. The tighter the insulation, the higher your home’s energy efficiency.
  • Noise reduction – Insulation prevents air and vibrations from moving through walls and ceilings. Blown insulation can reduce noise from the attic traveling down into your living space. This is handy if you want to use the attic for an office or lounge space.
  • Saves money – Making your home more energy efficient can reduce energy costs for many years to come. While blown-in insulation can be more expensive than batt insulation, its higher efficiency will pay off the installation costs in less than five years.
  • Fast installation – Installing blown insulation is a much faster process than installing batt insulation. The insulation is placed into the hopper of the blowing machine and fed through a pipe into the attic. Insulating an entire attic can take half a day or less.
