The Kids Closet is an nonprofit organization benefiting Orange County Public Schools which provides clothing to keep our children warm-and in school. Rinaldi’s will give you up to $50 any service when you donate a new warm clothing item for The Kids Closet.

• Just in Orange County, there are over 175,000 students and over half of those students are on free and reduced lunch.

• These aren’t children of poverty-this is today’s average family. Now that cold weather is here, these children are going to school without warm clothing.

• The average school social worker is going to the Kids Closet 2 to 3 times a week and Orange County Schools has 44 social workers-that’s a HUGE need and the Kids Closet needs your help. 

• Items that are needed are warm clothes-jackets, hats, gloves, jeans, shoes, socks and underwear. Smaller sizes are needed more-ranging from 3T through middle school. We are looking for NEW items. They will also take cash donations.

• Kid's Cloest is not open to the public. The way a family receives help is someone from the school either recognizes that a child doesn’t have proper warm clothes and refers them to the school social worker, or the family contacts the school social worker and asks for help. The social worker visits the family, finds out the needs, sizes and then goes to The Kids Closet to pick out the clothes.

• The Kids Closet is run by a board of 3 people, however only one person is able to actually run the facility. 

• There is such a need for children’s coats and The Kids Closet can’t fill the need and unfortunately, parents are keeping their kids home from school if they don’t have shoes, etc to go to school in.
